All using concepts and examples, formulas will NOT be a part of this course. In the second half there will be more attention for the Bayes factor, “hands on” using the R package bain, and a discussion.

Learning goals

Learn to setup, apply and interpret Bayesian hypothesis evaluation.

Preparation

The course materials can be downloaded from https://informative-hypotheses.sites.uu.nl/software/bain/ At the bottom of  that page you find “workshops” and the second entry there is “KLI”. You can prepare by installing, R, RStudio and the R package bain, and, if you need to refresh your R skills, do the R hands on mini course that can be found in the folder R labmeeting. If you prefer not to work with R, you can use JASP https://jasp-stats.org/ make certain the software you will use is installed on your computer before coming to the workshop.
