Content, learning goals, preparation

The track meeting is designed to allow students to hear about each other’s work, get feedback on their own work, and discuss issues that affect them as junior researchers. Ph.D. students are invited to contribute with a presentation. This presentation can be about their own research, in case they want to receive feedback from KLI faculty and fellow Ph.D. students. Participants could practice a presentation they will give at a conference, present research ideas, preliminary data, or discuss a paper they are currently writing and get feedback from colleagues. Presentations are informal and presenters can indicate what type of feedback they are looking for.

Alternatively, Ph.D. students can prepare a presentation about a ‘hot topic’ in GP&IR research. This can be a new theory or method, for example. Presentations can be done by a Ph.D. student alone, or together with a KLI faculty member (after consultation with teaching staff). In both cases, short and long presentations are possible, depending on the extent of the topic or the feedback that is desired.

In addition to student presentations, we will hold a roundtable conversation on career pathways after the Ph.D., both within academia and across industry, public sector, and other professional fields.
